About the Burnet County Court at Law

The Burnet County Court at Law handles all of the criminal misdemeanor cases in Burnet County, except for Class C misdemeanors, and has concurrent jurisdiction over the family law cases with the District Courts. It also has jurisdiction over some civil cases.  From January the 1st, 2015 to July the 31st, 2021, the court’s docket included the following:

The vast majority of the court’s time is spent on family law matters. This includes cases involving divorces, annulments, child custody, child support, terminations and adoptions.
